Dan and Tanya Snyder put the region’s most expensive house ever sold on the market

The most expensive home ever sold in Greater Washington is back on the market, and it would once again set a record if it sells for its staggering asking price.

Dan and Tanya Snyder, former owners of the Washington Commanders who decamped for England roughly a year ago just before selling the franchise for $6.05 billion, are seeking $60 million for River View, a 16.5-acre estate in southeastern Fairfax County near George Washington’s Mount Vernon. 

Heather Corey of TTR Sotheby’s International Realty has the listing, like she did when its previous owners, former Lockheed Martin Corp. CEO Robert Stevens and his wife Michelle, listed the property for $60 million in 2020.

The Snyders paid $48 million in cash for 7979 E. Boulevard Drive, in November 2021, topping the previous most expensive home sold — the late AOL co-founder Jim Kimsey’s McLean estate — by $3 million. River View, completed in 2018, offers unspoiled Potomac River frontage, a 16,000-square-foot main home and separate…
