The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 83 cents per share.
The electronics and media company posted revenue of $23.45 billion in the period.
For the year, the company reported profit of $6.72 billion, or $5.44 per share. Revenue was reported as $90.19 billion.
