Krispy Kreme: Q1 Earnings Snapshot

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Krispy Kreme Inc. (DNUT) on Thursday reported a loss of $8.5 million in its first quarter.

The Charlotte, North Carolina-based company said it had a loss of 5 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 7 cents per share.

The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 7 cents per share.

The doughnut wholesaler and retailer posted revenue of $442.7 million in the period, beating Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $433.9 million.

Krispy Kreme expects full-year earnings in the range of 27 cents to 31 cents per share.
