If you’ve been following the Washington Business Journal for the past few years, you may have thought we skipped our Business of Pride awards.
Or, maybe, it just didn’t register that our annual awards honoring LGBTQ+ business leaders from across the region was absent in the midst of other well-attended pride celebrations in Greater Washington this June.
Don’t worry — I won’t tell anyone.
So where, you might ask, is our pride?
After careful consideration, we’ve moved the program to avoid conflicts with similar events. The move also gives us the opportunity to spotlight leaders and companies for advancing the LGBTQ+ community beyond the month of June. This year, we’re excited to host our LGBTQ+ Business Awards on Nov. 16 at District Winery in D.C. Nominations are now open for the redesigned program, formally known as the Business of Pride, and honorees will be featured in a special section in print and online on Nov. 20 in the Washington Business Journal.
