Boeing reportedly eyeing 737 Max production increase ‘very soon’

The Boeing Co.’s (NYSE: BA) largest commercial aircraft program is showing more signs of momentum.

According to a report from Reuters, Boeing’s head of commercial airplanes, Stan Deal, said Thursday that a production increase on the Arlington-based giant’s 737 Max is coming “very soon.” 

While he said suppliers are still pressing to train new hires to keep up with demand, Deal described an overall improving vendor chain that will help the manufacturer raise output past the current rate of 31 aircraft per month.

Boeing, which moved its headquarters from Chicago to Arlington last year, has set a target rate of around 42,737 aircraft per month by the end of the year, in anticipation of building 50 per month by the end of 2025, but production rates have been choppy so far in 2023.
