American Eagle: Fiscal Q4 Earnings Snapshot

PITTSBURGH (AP) — PITTSBURGH (AP) — American Eagle Outfitters Inc. (AEO) on Wednesday reported fiscal fourth-quarter earnings of $54.6 million.

On a per-share basis, the Pittsburgh-based company said it had net income of 28 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 37 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 30 cents per share.

The teen clothing retailer posted revenue of $1.5 billion in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.47 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $125.1 million, or 64 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $4.99 billion.

American Eagle shares have risen 1% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $14.13, a decline of 31% in the last 12 months.
