The Atlanta-based company said it had profit of 50 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and non-recurring costs, came to 59 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 58 cents per share.
The packaging company posted revenue of $2.39 billion in the period, also surpassing Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.33 billion.
For the year, the company reported profit of $522 million, or $1.69 per share. Revenue was reported as $9.44 billion.
