A renovated 50-year-old Bethesda mansion has hit the market for $12.5 million, making it one of the most expensive current Maryland listings — and the most expensive in Montgomery County.

The 15,000-square-foot home sits on 2.77 acres at 8801 Fernwood Road in the Bradley Hills Grove neighborhood. It is listed by Daniel Heider of TTR Sotheby’s International Realty.

Built in 1972, the home has been “painstakingly reinvented,” according to the listing, “the result of which is an estate with an old soul clad in contemporary finishes.” The property last sold in 2012 for $3 million. The owner is listed in public records as Majid Naderkhani Trustee. Heider declined to comment on the owner.
