Former NFL quarterback Drew Brees bringing quick-serve restaurant chain to Virginia

Superfood bowl and smoothie chain everbowl is coming to Virginia thanks to a new franchise deal involving Super Bowl-winning quarterback Drew Brees.

The San Diego restaurant said Friday it has reached terms with Brees to expand his franchise agreement to 85 stores in the South and Midwest — including 10 locations in Virginia. Brees, the longtime quarterback of the New Orleans Saints who retired after the 2020 NFL season following a 20-year pro career, initially had a 65-store agreement with the chain but extended the deal to add stores in Virginia and Tennessee, according to the company’s announcement.

“Drew’s business savvy and community spirit is a perfect fit for everbowl’s progressive management style and rapid expansion strategy,” said CEO Jeff Fenster in a statement.

Everbowl did not respond Friday to a request for comment on where its stores might be located in Virginia. Brees is partnering with Indianapolis-based Alex Yeater to jointly manage and operate the new locations.…
