Diane Hoskins is well-known for her acumen in architecture and business — that much is apparent in her eye-popping resume, starting with degrees from MIT and UCLA’s Anderson business school and capped by her co-captain’s seat at the world’s largest architecture firm.

But, by all accounts, what really makes her stand out is what you don’t see on paper.

It’s her poise and quiet constancy, the way the gravity of her character brings others into stable orbit and holds them there. Her work and networks of relationships, by her being part of them, take on a certain order, purpose and elegance.

“She’s very centered, very peaceful all the time,” says her husband, Fairfax County Economic Development Authority President and CEO Victor Hoskins, who met her at a college dance.
