Ever since Gwen Muse-Evans’ very first job as a cashier at fast-food chain Jack in the Box, she gravitated toward finances and leadership. But she always wanted to get to the next level.
That ultimately led her to a long, fruitful career at Fannie Mae before she launched her own government contracting firm, GME Enterprises LLC, in 2014. The former JPMorgan Chase and General Electric exec was excited to branch out as her own boss — she knew she wanted more flexibility to be present with her family. But it took time to achieve the next level from being the “little guy” in the world of management consulting. The Chevy Chase company did enough to bring in just shy of $1.1 million in revenue last year, with five full-time employees and several contractors, evolving from what Muse-Evans called “the Gwen show.”
