Bridget Chatman doesn’t shy away from the new.
In her 30 years in federal business development and strategy, her knack for going after new markets has not only brought in billion-dollar deals and new customers, but also earned her recognition and leadership positions at a time when few women and even fewer women of color were in the field. But that didn’t stop her at Raytheon, where she wrote the first $1 billion bid to get into the environmental services market, or at IBM, where she helped launch the professional services group, or at CheckFree, where she piloted and sold the first online utilities bill-payment system.
Now at Science Applications International Corp., Chatman’s pioneering track record continues: In 2021, she won her second CEO Award for securing a $650 million air traffic controller contract, while still transitioning into a new role in new territory, yet again, one of diversity, equity and inclusion.
