Starting this summer, Dulles International Airport will once again offer direct flights to Madrid.
Iberia, a Spanish air carrier, will start the new service between Dulles and Spain’s Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport June 1, the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority announced. This addition, delayed since 2020, marks the airport’s first new international airline since the start of the Covid pandemic.
It also marks the addition of a direct flight between the U.S. and Spanish capitals, which Iberia previously ran out of Dulles but canceled in 2010 to use the slot for a flight to Los Angeles. Iberia also flies direct from Madrid to New York, Miami, Chicago and San Francisco.
The carrier will operate four Dulles flights per week on Airbus A330-family aircraft, on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. The Madrid flights currently show prices in June that range from $432 to $4,280 one-way.
