The U.S. News & World Report top hotels list is out for 2022, and D.C. hotels fell precipitously in the rankings from last year.
No D.C. hotel made it into the top 10, even though two of them, the Jefferson hotel downtown and the Four Seasons in Georgetown, were in among those ranks last year.
The Jefferson was the highest-ranked hotel on the national list, at No. 32, and the Four Seasons also made the top 50 at No. 44. The Hay-Adams near the White House rounded out D.C.’s entrants in that group at No. 50.
The Trump International Hotel in D.C., which appears poised to be converted to a Waldorf-Astoria before long, fell to No. 84 from its 2021 ranking of No. 28. The Salamander Resort & Spa in Middleburg and the Inn at Little Washington, which is outside the immediate D.C. area, both jumped in the national rankings, however; The Inn is now No. 64 on the national list, up from No. 113 in 2021, and Salamander is No. 66, up from No. 241.
