Blimey! Gordon Ramsay is bringing his Hell’s Kitchen restaurant to D.C.

Celebrity chef and television personality Gordon Ramsay is bringing Hell’s Kitchen to The Wharf on D.C.’s southwest waterfront.

No, not the reality TV show — but a location of the restaurant chain inspired by it.

Representatives for Gordon Ramsay North America recently submitted plans to the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts for what would be a two-story Hell’s Kitchen at 652 Wharf St. SW, one of two retail structures dubbed the Water Buildings delivering in The Wharf’s second phase. The one Ramsay has set his sights on will include 16,081 square feet of indoor and outdoor “summer garden” restaurant space.

Those buildings will sit on the edge of the Washington Channel atop a new concrete pier, similar to the former Cantina Marina restaurant and bar that graced this stretch of waterfront for 15 years before The Wharf opened in 2017. Cantina Marina, despite originally hoping to be part of the Wharf’s second phase, will not be moving back there, the restaurant’s owners tweeted in January.…
