Peraton to relocate its headquarters after blockbuster acquisitions

Federal IT contractor Peraton is headed to a new home, but it’s not going too far.

The company is relocating its corporate headquarters eastward to Reston Town Center’s 1875 Explorer St., which it will occupy by next September. While only about 3 miles from its current headquarters at 12975 Worldgate Drive, its new Reston base boasts more direct access to the Metro’s Silver Line as opposing to lying between two stations still yet to open.

The company has ballooned in size after a string of major acquisitions in the past year: Last December, it bought Northrop Grumman Corp.’s (NYSE: NOC) IT services division for $3.4 billion, followed closely by its January acquisition of Perspecta Inc. for $7.1 billion. Then in September, it snapped up the cloud services division of Herndon IT contractor ViON Corp., after winning a large Department of Veterans Affairs cloud services contract.
