Lobster roll restaurant to replace Shirlington spa

Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls has inked a deal to replace Nirvana Reflexology Spa at Village at Shirlington, part of a larger flurry of deals at the Arlington County mixed-use development that also includes a new beer hall set to open in summer 2022.

The lobster roll chain has signed a lease for 1,334 square feet at 4017 Campbell Ave., where it will join a roster of new or incoming tenants including Bearded Goat Barber, ChiKo and Astro Food Hall, which is filling the 14,000-square-foot gap created in 2018 when Capital City Brewing Co. shuttered after more than two decades. This will be the sixth area location for Mason’s Famous — there are three in D.C., including at MRP Realty’s Western Market food hall, one at National Harbor and one in Reston.

Federal Realty Investment Trust (NYSE: FRT) owns the 266,000-square-foot Shirlington retail center, which was developed in the 1980s by the Oliver Carr Co., and had been courting fast-casual tenants like Mason’s to complement the mix of…
