Joe Clair’s new blend: Coffee, comedy and charity

Joe Clair, a Seat Pleasant native, is a stand-up comedian, entrepreneur, Realtor and the former host of BET’s “Rap City” and the WPGC 95.5 morning show. He recently launched The Percolator Coffee Co., which will donate a portion of its proceeds to charitable organizations.

What was the process of getting a coffee company off the ground? The idea started when my wife suggested that I needed my own brand of coffee to go along with a cake coffee I had in the works at the time. Well, that and my wife helping me source, conceptualize and launch a real brand and product.

What’s Percolator coffee’s key selling point — its taste or its message? Both. I drink coffee every morning and I would make it a part of my morning show’s culture. So why not help people out with some of the proceeds if it were to turn into a profitable business?
