The need for greater diversity plays a major role in corporate America, from suppliers to the C-suite.
So, it’s only natural that it would figure in just as much in our earliest, most formative years as well: in our K-12 schools.
In this day and age, the diversity of a student body can be just as important to many parents as the experience of the teaching staff. Fortunately for those parents, a home base in Greater Washington — where a staggering 55% of residents are nonwhite, per the 2019 Census — affords a higher likelihood of diverse neighborhoods and schools across the region.
But which local schools lead the way with the most diverse mix of students? We consulted Niche.com, an education data platform based in Pittsburgh, for its most recent ranking of the D.C. region’s most diverse schools.
