D.C. auto refinancing startup MotoRefi rebrands

Local fintech startup MotoRefi is entering the next phase of its aggressive growth push with a new name: Caribou Financial Inc.

The D.C. company, whose technology aims to make refinancing car loans easier for consumers, announced the rebrand Wednesday complete with the new name, new logo and new product that combines its bread and butter — auto financing — with car insurance.

Its platform enables customers to identify and lock in lower rates for their car loans. And the latest offering, first revealed in late October, also makes it a tool for car owners to access coverage plans from various insurance carriers, according to Caribou. The goal: help its customers save more money.
