Retired NFL tight end Vernon Davis pivots from gridiron to the red carpet

Vernon Davis is a retired tight end for the Washington Football Team, among other NFL franchises. He’s a University of Maryland graduate, real estate investor, “Dancing with the Stars” contestant, movie producer and increasingly busy film actor. He is currently filming “Muti,” an indie thriller, with Morgan Freeman and Cole Hauser.

When did you first catch the acting bug? I first caught the acting bug early in my NFL career during my time with the San Francisco 49ers. One year during off season training, I enrolled myself in a class at the Shelton Theater of the Arts. I’ve pursued acting ever since and haven’t looked back.

You’ve filmed, or are filming, with the likes of Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Bruce Willis. What are some important acting lessons you’ve learned from the vets? It’s always about being subtle.
