With the pace of technology moving at an ever faster pace, it’s Susan Penfield’s job to stay ahead of its next sea changes. 

She’s chief innovation officer for a company whose entire pitch revolves around technological advancement, McLean management and IT consulting company Booz Allen Hamilton (NYSE: BAH). She not only ensures its expertise in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and digital transformation remains strong, but also determines where the firm — which employs more than 13,000 in Greater Washington with $7.5 billion in revenue in fiscal 2020 — will invest in the future, from cloud computing to emerging technologies.

In her role, she leads the company’s strategic innovation group (SIG).
