Honoree: Angela Franco

No matter what Angela Franco is doing day-to-day as president and CEO of the D.C. Chamber of Commerce, she has one major focus. “My job is about working with people,” she says. “You do business with people, you connect with people, you network with people. Everything is about people.”

Franco joined the chamber in July 2020 as interim president and CEO. In March 2021, she was permanently appointed to the role. It wasn’t an easy time to join, as Franco and her team worked to help businesses in the District navigate the pandemic and civil unrest throughout 2020 and 2021.

As president, Franco has been committed to cutting expenses and watching over the chamber’s $2 million budget. She’s both shuffled the staffing structure, now at six full-time employees, and focused on key partner relationships to garner more funding from the public and private sector.
