Contracting giant DXC Technology is leaving Tysons for a smaller headquarters one county over, citing a “virtual first” employment model that negates the need for sizable office space.
The Fortune 500 IT company (NYSE: DXC) will relocate its corporate office from 1775 Tysons Blvd. to 20408 Bashan Drive in Ashburn’s One Loudoun. DXC’s new 10,000-square-foot home will be a focal point for its “several hundred” D.C.-area employees when it completes the move in November.
“Over the past two years, as we looked at ways to improve employee engagement and experience, we have moved to a virtual-first environment locally and globally,” Richard Adamonis, DXC spokesman, said in a statement, noting 99% of its 130,000 global employees are now equipped to work remotely. “Ours is a now largely distributed, remote workplace where our people throughout the world are enabled to work remotely and flexibly and, when needed, to access purpose-built offices — whatever best fits their needs.”
