D.C. cognitive tech startup Sorcero Inc. has raised millions in new funding to support demand for its platform — which has only increased through the pandemic.
The local company, which uses artificial intelligence to break down complex scientific and medical data, has raised $10 million in a Series A round led by CityRock Venture Partners, part of New York’s H/L Ventures; and Harmonix Fund, which focuses on health care and deep tech ventures. A flurry of other backers also participated, including new investors Rackhouse, Mighty Capital and Leawood VC; and existing investors Castor Ventures and Worldquant Ventures, Sorcero said in its announcement.
The raise comes about a year after the now 4-year-old company launched its platform and crossed $1 million in revenue — “a milestone in almost any young startup’s life, so that’s a big deal for us,” founder and CEO Dipanwita Das said in September 2020.
