32 Teacher Discounts for World Teachers’ Day and Beyond

It was only 1994 when UNESCO decided teachers deserved a day all to themselves. The organization declared October 5 to be World Teachers’ Day, a holiday dedicated to honoring gallant educators across the globe.

In honor of the fast-approaching holiday, savings specialists from Offers.com have provided a list of more than 30 of the best teacher discounts available for fall 2017.

These discounts are available not only on World Teachers’ Day, but all year long. Discount availability and amount may vary by location, so teachers seeking deals should be sure to call their local store to inquire about its individual policy. To redeem the deal, educators may be required to provide an ID or another form of employment documentation. For online purchases, customers may be required to provide an .edu email address or verify teacher status through an online platform like ID.me or SheerID.com.

School Supply and Book Discounts

A.C. Moore. Teachers receive 15 percent off regular- and sale-price purchases in store. To access the deal, educators should bring a state-issued photo ID, certificate or license, a school ID or pay stub, or a home school affidavit or Individualized Home Instruction Plan approval letter.

Barnes & Noble. After enrolling in the Barnes & Noble Educator program, teachers can save 20 percent off the publisher’s list price on purchases for the classroom and up to 25 percent off during Educator Appreciation Days. To sign up, shoppers must visit a Barnes & Noble retail location with valid proof of employment and photo ID.

Container Store. After joining the Organized Teacher program, customers can get special discounts on organizational products throughout the year. For in-store purchases, teachers must provide a school ID, teaching certificate or other proof of employment.

Half Price Books. Educators, teachers and librarians can apply for the Education Discount Card to save 10 percent on all in-store purchases. To enroll, participants must provide a pay stub or ID card.

Hobby Lobby. Teachers can get a 10 percent discount on purchases made with an academic organizational check or credit card. To get the deal, teachers should consult with a store manager before checking out.

JOANN. When they enroll in JOANN Teacher Rewards, qualifying professionals can get 15 percent off all purchases made in-store and online. Members receive a discount card that must be activated in store by presenting a teacher ID and state-issued photo ID to a manager.

Michaels. Teachers may qualify for 15 percent off products for the classroom. This offer is available in store only with a valid school ID.

Staples. Educators can join Staples Teacher Rewards program to get 5 percent back in rewards on most merchandise and 10 percent back in rewards on teaching and art supplies. Members of the program also get free shipping from Staples.com and special bonus discounts on select products throughout the year.

Adobe. Academic professionals can get special pricing on Adobe products for both classroom and personal use. To prove eligibility, users must provide a pay stub, letter on official letterhead or document issued by a school with the applicant’s name, school name and date.

Apple. Throughout the year, school faculty and staff and homeschool teachers can get special education pricing on Mac and iPad purchases. Educators also enjoy access to Apple’s annual back-to-school promotion. To verify eligibility, teachers may be asked to provide an ID or other documentation.

AT&T. With an .edu email address, teachers can apply for discounts and other perks on wireless service, phones and more through the AT&T Signature Program. Alternatively, consumers can apply in store with their school ID.

HP. After registering for HP Academy, school faculty will save up to 20 percent on HP products and get free shipping from HP.com. To enroll, customers may be required to verify teacher status online.

Lenovo. Educators get 10 percent off online purchases. To qualify, applicants must verify their educator status on Lenovo.com.

T-Mobile. College staff can save $60 on smartphones and get 20 percent off select accessories. To unlock these deals, qualifying university professionals must call T-Mobile at 1-855-882-5453.

Verizon. Education employees at participating organizations may qualify for monthly service discounts. To determine eligibility, users must submit their school email or paystub.

Aerosoles. Educators score 15 percent off footwear priced $39.99 or more. To get the deal, shoppers must show a teachers ID or pay stub.

Banana Republic. Eligible academic professionals can save 15 percent on full price in-store purchases. To receive the discount, customers must furnish a valid teacher ID.

Columbia Sportswear. When shopping on Columbia.com, teachers can receive 15 percent off their order. To qualify, they must first register through ID.me.

Costco. Teachers can save more than $60 when they sign up for a Costco membership. Applicants can verify their status online with a school email address.
