The Top 10 Cities for Summer Jobs

June is rapidly approaching, and you know what that means: sun, surf and summer job search. You read that right: That last one is the case for some, including many young adults. But where to go look for such jobs?

According to a new WalletHub analysis, Orlando, Florida, is the best city in the country to look for a summer job. Rounding out the top three (of the 150 biggest U.S. markets ranked) are Scottsdale, Arizona, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The season obviously conjures up images of beaches and cocktails, but it’s also when people are looking to make some extra cash and gain valuable work experience.

The cities were ranked according to 21 indicators, including employment outlook, downtime-friendliness and affordability.

Cities with the highest availability of summer jobs include Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, Florida, and San Francisco and Irvine, California. Cities with the least availability of summer jobs were Tallahassee, Florida; Laredo, Texas; Fontana and Moreno Valley, California; and North Las Vegas, Nevada.
