Six D.C.-area hotels land in Cvent’s top 100 for U.S. meetings. One nearly cracked the top 10.

The Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center at National Harbor is oh so close to landing a top 10 ranking in Cvent’s annual list of top U.S. hotels for meetings.

Instead, the resort on the banks of the Potomac River ranked 11th. The Gaylord, owned by Nashville-based Ryman Hospitality Properties (NYSE: RHP), features 95 meeting rooms totaling more than 530,000 square feet, plus a snazzy new 24,000-square-foot stand-alone venue for weddings and other events.

The Gaylord National’s sister resort, the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, was the top meeting hotel property nationwide, according to Cvent. The Venetian and Palazzo resorts in Las Vegas, Aria Resort & Casino in Vegas, JW Marriott Austin, and the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center round out the top five.
