D.C. could become home to a second Trump hotel.
Officials from the Trump Organization have been touring existing hotel properties with an eye toward converting them to a Scion, the lower-level brand from the hotel company, according to a Washington Post report.
Foxhall Partners principal Brian Friedman told the Post that the Trump hotel company’s representatives have toured both the Carlyle Hotel in Dupont Circle and the Kimpton Glover Park, both of which Foxhall owns.
Eric Danziger, CEO of Trump Hotels, also recently toured the Beacon Hotel on Rhode Island Avenue NW, a source told the Post. In a statement to the Post, Danziger declined to discuss deals that haven’t been finalized.
The Scion brand is not at the same level of luxury as the Trump-branded hotels are. Danziger described the brand as similar to Marriott’s W Hotels & Resorts when the company rolled it out back in October.
