Jeff Bezos Went to the Golden Globes and Everyone Was Talking About It

Meryl Streep. Leonardo DiCaprio. Viola Davis. Jeff Bezos.

One of these may not seem like the other, but Amazon.com’s (ticker: AMZN) CEO was again rubbing elbows with the Hollywood elite this time at Sunday night’s Golden Globes ceremony — and got to see a few more wins for the company in the process.

GeekWire notes host Jimmy Fallon gave Bezos a shout-out during the awards show, joking about Amazon’s delivery services.

“He actually arrived yesterday, but there was no one around to sign for him,” Fallon said of Bezos.

Twitter, naturally, had a lot to say about the attendance of Bezos.

Much like Casey Affleck, @JeffBezos is typically the 3rd or 4th person I thank at any given moment. #GoldenGlobes #ThatSameDayShippingTho

I hope @JeffBezos takes time tonight after the #GoldenGlobes to read my e-mail about my missing item.

5 years ago, I would never have guessed @JeffBezos would be the tech titan sitting next to Matt Damon at the #GoldenGlobes

Amazon Studios gathered 11 nominations and saw two wins: Billy Bob Thornton for best actor in a television series, drama (“Goliath”) and Casey Affleck for best actor in a motion picture, drama (“Manchester by the Sea”). Amazon series “Transparent” has previously won Golden Globe awards as well as Emmys, and its series “Mozart in the Jungle” stole the show at last year’s Golden Globes with two wins.

Amazon wasn’t the only streaming service to make waves at the award show, with Netflix (NFLX) taking home two prizes for regal drama “The Crown,” for both best drama series and best actress in a television series, drama for Claire Foy.
