WASHINGTON — For those times in a broken relationship when you don’t want constant photographic reminders of an ex, but aren’t ready to permanently delete their pictures, the Google Photos app update can help.
Google’s “face grouping” facial detection feature, in its iOS and Android apps, helps users easily find or hide photos of specific people.
Google’s blog says, “See similar faces grouped together in Search, and privately label faces to quickly search for the person you’re looking for.”
The same feature allows you to hide a person from appearing under the People grouping. And, to avoid being reminded of anniversaries when love was flourishing, the feature “also prevents events with that person from appearing in ‘Rediscover this day,'”
Now, if someone could develop an app to prevent “our song” from playing online.
