WASHINGTON — No. 10 Maryland (6-2) entertains Towson (3-5) at 2 p.m.
Sunday at College Park, Maryland.
The Terps will try and end a two-game slide, the latest against top-ranked
Notre Dame (8-1). Notre Dame lost to UConn (6-1) Saturday.
The Tigers are coming off a win over Loyola this past Thursday, with LaTorri
Hines-Allen averaging 17.5 points a game, with teammate Dominique Johnson
averaging 15.3.
Sunday’s contest will be the 20th time the two schools have played, with
Maryland holding a 14-5 edge and have won the last four in a row. The Terps
also have taken 12 of the last 13 games against Towson.
The last game between the two, on Nov. 23, 2013, the Terps beat the Tigers,
90-53 where Laurin Mincy scored 14 points. Mincy needs just one more point
(999) to become the 29th player in team history to score 1,000.
Maryland’s record, all time at College Park, is 470-127, and dates back to
1971-1972 and 177-32 under Brenda Frese at home. The Terps are 112-6 all time
in non-conference contest at XFINITY Center.
