Buckeye women lose another player to knee injury

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ohio State freshman guard Kianna Holland will miss the 2014-15 season after injuring a knee during practice and undergoing surgery.

She is the third freshman to injure a knee during preseason workouts.

The 5-foot-9 player from Seneca, South Carolina, transferred to Ohio State from Duke last winter. She would have been eligible to play this season for the Buckeyes at the end of the first semester.

She averaged more than 35 points a game as a senior in high school and was a Parade Magazine finalist for national player of the year.
