WASHINGTON — Tough postseason losses can sting all winter long. I know — I’m an Oakland A’s fan. It’s practically an October ritual for me at this point.
But if you’re a Nationals fan still reeling from Tuesday night’s quiet exit from the 2014 season, you shouldn’t turn off the television and ignore baseball altogether. There are still four teams fighting for a championship, and surely one is worthy of throwing your support behind.
For me (again, the A’s fan) the answer is simple: It’s the Kansas City Royals. Yes, they knocked my team out, but I’d rather see them crush everyone else along the way after needing every last bit of fortune and good baserunning to slip past Oakland in the Wild Card Game. Not that I’m still bitter, or anything.
Besides, the environment at Kauffman Stadium looks amazing, and that city hasn’t had much to cheer for in a while. One could say the same about the Orioles, as well. The Giants and Cardinals
