POUND, Va. (AP) — A Southwest Virginia teenager faces a first-degree murder charge in connection with the death of his half-brother.
Wise County commonwealth’s attorney Ron Elkins tells media outlets that the 15-year-old boy will be tried as a juvenile.
The shooting occurred Monday at the family’s home in Pound. Pound police say the teenager’s 24-year-old half-brother was shot multiple times.
The teenager is being held in an area juvenile detention facility. He wasn’t identified because he is a juvenile. Elkins says the victim’s name also won’t be released.
