SALISBURY, Md. (AP) — The trial of an 18-year-old Maryland man accused of raping a fellow student in a school hallway in May is set to begin Monday.
Jacori Scarborough of Delmar has pleaded not guilty to rape, assault, false imprisonment and other charges. His trial is set to begin Monday in Wicomico County Circuit Court and continue into Tuesday.
A 15-year-old girl who says Scarborough raped her in a hallway at Parkside High School in Salisbury on May 5 is set to testify against Scarborough. Prosecutors say they’ll also rely on DNA evidence, fingerprints and video surveillance.
Scarborough’s attorney, Eddie Gonzalez, tells The Daily Times (http://delmarvane.ws/1y7Ou5j ) that he and Scarborough haven’t decided whether Scarborough will testify on his own behalf.
Gonzalez says Scarborough maintains his innocence.
