WASHINGTON (AP) — Tiger Woods’ tournament will have yet another new home in 2017.
Organizers announced Thursday that the 2017 Quicken Loans National will be played at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm in Potomac, Maryland.
It’s the course that used to be known as TPC Avenel when it hosted the Kemper Open. The course has since undergone a multimillion dollar renovation.
Woods would prefer to play the tournament at Congressional Country Club. Congressional’s members have balked at hosting the event every year, and instead have approved a plan to hold it in 2016, 2018 and 2020.
The 2015 tournament will be played at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia.
The Tiger Woods Foundation runs the tournament, and Woods has said he wants it to stay in the Washington area.
