WASHINGTON — Washington Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo may be out for the rest of the season, but he is still showing support for the team — even from a hospital bed.
Orakpo sustained a season- ending injury trying to make a tackle on a running play early in the fourth quarter of Washington’s 19-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans Sunday. The three-time Pro Bowl selection had surgery Wednesday morning for his torn right pectoral muscle.
As Orakpo headed into surgery, he tweeted a photo of himself in a hospital bed and encouraging the team to beat the Dallas Cowboys Monday.

Unfortunately, this isn’t a new experience for Orakpo. He tore his pectoral muscle two other times during his career.
Meanwhile, the Redskins signed linebacker Everette Brown and placed Orakpo on injured reserve. On Monday, the team announced Orakpo was out for the season.
