DETROIT (AP) — The Detroit Red Wings have assigned defenseman Xavier Ouellet and goaltender Petr Mrazek to Grand Rapids of the AHL, reducing their roster to 23 before Thursday night’s season opener against the Boston Bruins.
Ouellet played 70 games for Grand Rapids in 2013-14 and four for the Red Wings, making his NHL debut last October.
Mrazek posted a 2.10 goals-against average in 32 games for Grand Rapids last season, and he had a 1.74 GAA in nine games for the Red Wings.
Detroit announced the moves on Tuesday.
