SAN ANTONIO (AP) — Lamar Jordan and Jhurell Pressley each ran for a touchdown and over 100 yards, rallying New Mexico to a 21-9 win over UTSA on Saturday.
Pressley finished with 102 yards on five carries, including a 77-yard touchdown run that put New Mexico up 21-9 with 7:37 left.
Jordan had nine carries for 106 yards and completed 7 of 11 passes for 72 yards. His 9-yard touchdown run gave the Lobos (2-3) their first lead at 14-9 late in the third quarter.
New Mexico had eight different players carry the ball, outrushing the Roadrunners 283-112.
UTSA (1-4) scored the first nine points before surrendering the final 21 to record its fourth consecutive loss.
Blake Bogenschutz replaced UTSA starting quarterback Tucker Carter with 7:58 to play in the second quarter. Carter was not injured and returned in the fourth, but threw an interception to end the Roadrunners’ final possession.
