SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) — A fire truck responding to a blaze in downtown Silver Spring caught fire itself.
The ladder truck from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue was on its way to the fire on Georgia Avenue Monday afternoon when it burst into flame. The fire broke out in the engine compartment, and the truck pulled over.
Another Montgomery County unit that was with the truck put out the fire. No one was injured.
A spokeswoman for the fire and rescue service says the engine fire is being investigated.
The building fire was also put out quickly.
