NEWARK, Del. (AP) — Newark police have arrested a Maryland man on charges of assault and drunken driving in a wrong-way crash that seriously injured another man.
Police arrested Timothy Krieger of Elkton on Monday. He was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond.
Police say Krieger was drunk on Oct. 22 when he drove the wrong way on South Main Street, colliding with another car. Both Krieger and the driver of the other car had to be extricated by paramedics and taken to the hospital.
Krieger has an unlisted number and it’s unclear whether he has an attorney.
The other driver had to undergo surgery for lower-body injuries. He remains in in serious but stable condition.
