RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Richmond International Airport police have cited a Chesterfield County man who brought a loaded gun past a security checkpoint.

The U.S. Transportation Security Administration says TSA officers staffing a checkpoint X-ray machine discovered the 9mm handgun in a carry-on bag. The gun was loaded with seven rounds and the bag contained an extra magazine.

Airport police confiscated the gun and cited the man on a state weapons charge.

The TSA says the incident occurred on Monday. Airport operations weren’t affected.
