COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed goaltender Curtis McElhinney on injured reserve and have added goaltender Anton Forsberg to the roster on emergency recall from their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Massachusetts.
McElhinney, the backup to top goalie Sergei Bobrovsky, suffered an upper body injury in Saturday’s game at Ottawa and is expected to miss at least one week.
The 21-year-old Forsberg, the Blue Jackets’ sixth pick in the 2011 draft, is 1-2-0 with a 2.36 goals-against average and .921 save percentage in three games with Springfield this season. He is 4-2-0 with a 1.69 goals-against average and .940 save percentage in seven career AHL games since making his North American professional debut with the Falcons late in the 2013-14 season.
