Duquesne holds on for 28-20 win over Central Conn.

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) — Dillon Buechel threw for 333 yards and four touchdowns to give Duquesne a 28-20 win over Central Connecticut State on Saturday.

Buechel threw two touchdown passes to Chris King in the first quarter and Duquesne (4-2, 1-0 Northeast Conference) took a 14-10 halftime lead. King finished with 147 yards and three touchdowns.

Buchel, who has now thrown for 1,904 yards this season, connected with Devin Rahming for a score to open the third quarter. Rahming pulled in eight passes for 93 yards.

CCSU (2-4, 0-1) closed the gap to 28-20 when Rob Hollomon ran in from the 13 with 6:51 remaining in the game. Hollomon finished with 131 yards on 28 carries. The CCSU defense stopped the Dukes on the next series and drove to the Duquesne 7 but failed to score. The Dukes then ran out the clock.
