Data breach ensnares five local Dairy Queen stores

WASHINGTON — Computer systems may have been compromised at 395 Dairy Queen stores in the U.S., including five in Maryland and Virginia, according to NBC Washington.

The computer systems were infected with malware, yet the dates vary by location, NBC Washington reports. Customer names, card numbers and expiration dates were compromised, but not Social Security numbers or PINs, according to Dairy Queen.

DQ is handling the problem. It’s offering free year of credit identity repair to those who may have been affected by the breach, NBC Washington says.
