CINCINNATI (AP) — Bengals receiver A.J. Green is inactive for a game against the Carolina Panthers because of a lingering injury to his big right toe.

Green hurt the toe in the season opener and has been limited at various times of the season. He aggravated it during practice on Wednesday and was listed as questionable for the game.

Cincinnati also is missing receiver Marvin Jones, who has an ankle injury.

The Panthers are missing two of their top running backs again. DeAngelo Williams (ankle) had already been ruled out. Jonathan Stewart (knee) is inactive as well. He’d been listed as questionable.

Melvin White starts at cornerback in place of Josh Norman, who is recovering from a concussion.
