The Citadel (0-1) vs. No. 1 Florida State (1-0), 7:35 p.m. EDT

Line: No line.

Series: Florida State leads 5-0-1.

WHAT’S AT STAKE

Florida State gets the opportunity to refine some rough edges that showed in its 37-31 victory over Oklahoma State last week. The Citadel, an FCS school, gets a $440,000 paycheck and the opportunity to face the No. 1 team in the nation.

KEY MATCHUP

Florida State’s defense runs a nickel package most of the time, partly because of the frequency in which it plays spread offenses. The Seminoles will get a different look this week against The Citadel’s triple-option. Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher compared it Georgia Tech’s offense. Florida State will be without starting cornerback P.J. Williams and defensive end/linebacker Chris Casher.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

The Citadel: Senior defensive end Justin Oxendine was named first-team All-Southern Conference in 2013 after leading the team with 11.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks The 6-foot-3, 255-pounder finished with 46 tackles and will be tested against a Florida State offensive line that starts five seniors.

Florida State: Sophomore defensive back Jalen Ramsey had a career-high 12 tackles last week and looks to fill the role vacated when Lamarcus Joyner left for the NFL. The 6-1, 204-pounder moves to the nickelback with five defensive backs on the field, plays well against the run and is a dangerous blitzer.
