WASHINGTON — Prince George’s County police on Tuesday arrested a man they say murdered a 3-year-old girl last month.
Police arrested 25-year-old Davon Wallace Tuesday in D.C. FBI investigators say they believe he got into an argument with a man outside a home on East Kilmer Street in Landover, Maryland, on Aug. 10.
Wallace — a Landover, Maryland, resident — was in a romantic relationship with a young woman who lived at the house, says Lt. Bill Alexander of Prince George’s County police. He was fighting with the woman’s teenage brother over clothes the boy borrowed, Alexander says.
The two fought outside the home. Investigators say they believe Wallace left the scene and returned with a handgun, firing more than six rounds into the home. One of those bullets struck 3-year-old Knijah Bibb.
Bibb, who was a visitor in the home, was rushed to the hospital, but she did not suffer long before she passed away, Alexander says.
