WASHINGTON — Kroger plans to hire about 1,600 people for positions in the Mid- Atlantic.
The permanent jobs are in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina and the eastern portions of Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio, the company says in a news release.
The positions are at 118 stores, 113 pharmacies and 75 fuel centers.
The Virginia jobs are in a number of cities, but do not appear to include any Northern Virginia locations, according to a search of the company’s job listings.
These Mid-Atlantic jobs do not include any openings at Harris Teeter, which Kroger acquired earlier this year.
At all of its stores, Kroger is hiring to fill an estimated 20,000 permanent jobs.
